Celebrate Them While You Can
Regina Brett said it best when she wrote, "If you're lucky enough to still have grandparents, visit them, cherish them and celebrate them while you can."
Today I am featuring a few portraits from some of my recent family sessions that included grandparents. I can't tell you how priceless these photos will be to you, your parents, and most importantly, your children. If I were to rank these photos on a list of the most important photo investments a family can make, this one would easily rank in the top 3. But sadly, most people don't think about grandparent sessions until they've lost a parent. I know that's a little grim, but it's the truth.
We document so many beautiful milestones: engagement, wedding, maternity, firstborn, and annual family portraits. Why do grandparents get lost in these milestones? One of the most beautiful and meaningful relationships our children will treasure for the rest of their lives are the ones they forge with our parents. So why not discuss it with your photographer and invite them to your next family session? Or better yet, get them a session of their own. If the investment seems too big, get together with your siblings and organize a joint gift. I promise that while the investment may seem big, what you receive in return will become priceless for you, your children, and future generations.
